Covima 3

The technological tool that promotes forest protection in Colombia

Enciso Systems announces the release of Covima 3, an application for the control and surveillance of logging activity in Colombia, which marks a milestone in the protection of forest resources and the conservation of biodiversity. Covima 3 was financed by the Institute for Green Growth and the Orinoquía Biocarbon project, and its implementation is carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development. The release event was attended by environmental authorities and key players in environmental protection. Covima 3 uses advanced technologies, such as image analysis and artificial intelligence, to detect and prevent illegal activities related to logging and timber transport, providing a comprehensive tool for monitoring and combating deforestation. Enciso Systems is proud of its contribution to forest protection and biodiversity conservation, and is committed to working closely with environmental authorities and organizations for a sustainable future.

Enciso Systems, a pioneer in the development of technological solutions for the care of the environment, is pleased to announce the release of Covima 3, an application designed for the effective control and surveillance of the logging activity in Colombia. Covima 3 represents a significant milestone in the protection of our forest resources and the conservation of biodiversity.

This new version of Covima has been possible thanks to funding from the Green Growth Institute (GGGI) [1] and the Biocarbono Orinoquía project [2]. Their support has been essential for the development and successful implementation of this technological tool. Covima 3 is a clear example of how collaboration between the public and private sectors generates innovative solutions for the environmental challenges we face at the national level.

It is important to note that Covima 3 is operated and managed by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, thus guaranteeing efficient and transparent management of the application. The ministry's participation ensures that Covima 3 is aligned with current environmental policies and regulations in the country, and makes it an integral tool for monitoring and combating deforestation [3].

The event held on June 23 in the city of Villavicencio was attended by leading environmental authorities of the country, including representatives of the Regional Autonomous Corporations, the National Police, the National Navy, the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation and others key players in environmental protection. The assistance of these entities demonstrates the joint commitment in the fight against deforestation and illegal timber trafficking.

Covima 3 is a comprehensive solution that uses advanced technologies such as image analysis and artificial intelligence to detect and prevent illegal activities related to logging and timber transportation. The application helps environmental authorities to classify and identify forest products, as well as calculate transported volumes.

Enciso Systems is proud to contribute to the protection of our forests and the conservation of biodiversity through the development of innovative technological solutions such as Covima 3. We are committed to continue working closely with authorities and environmental organizations to guarantee a future sustainable for all.
